Solvent Dyes
Solvent dyes are water insoluble but soluble in organic solvents.Solvent dyes are often used to dye solvents, fuels, waxes, lubricants, plastics, etc.
Disperse Dyes
Disperse dyes are water insoluble and are often used in dyeing polyester and acetate fibers.
Reactive Dyes
Reactive dye is the dye that can react with a fibre to form a covalent link, that is forming a permanent attachment in the fibre and could not be removed by repeated treatment with boiling water under neutral conditions.
Vat Dyes
Vat dyes are insoluble pigments with little substantivity for cellulose, and are treated, in a process known as vatting, with a reducing agent under strongly alkaline conditions, to form what is known as the leuco compound.
